The Astoria Warrenton Chamber of Commerce
The Astoria Warrenton Chamber of Commerce organizes this event to benefit the community at large. Proceeds from this event help the Chamber continue it’s valued work. We also use this event to highlight two special organizations each year with which we share the proceeds from this event.
This year our two chosen charitable organizations are:
Assistance League ® Columbia Pacific (Oregon)
Assistance League Columbia Pacific is a nonprofit organization whose volunteers raise funds to assist children in our communities. Their signature project provides new clothing for school children in need throughout Clatsop County, Oregon. AL believes that children have a better chance of succeeding and of developing self-esteem when their basic needs are met. The organization will dedicate 100% of funds donated from the Great Columbia Crossing to buy quality athletic shoes for kids. For additional information visit their website at
http://www.columbia-pacific.assistanceleague.org.
The Peninsula Children’s Account (Washington)
Some 25 years old, this Pacific County, Washington charity’s one purpose is to make life more comfortable, safer and happier for children, always served with love. Donations are needed year around, especially at Christmas and 100% of gifts are happily received and carefully spent in assistance. Special emergencies happen for all families, but those whose incomes cover only bare minimum essentials are caught with a need for a helping hand. Thanks to the generosity and warm hearts of donors there has always been money to assist. These assists are mostly in clothing, lots and lots of shoes, jackets, hoodies, sweats, panties, boys briefs, something new for first day of school or Christmas gifts. Besides clothing, over the years donated monies have answered a myriad of requests always with the thought of loving children through hard times.
